A legacy is fulfilling your purpose and helping other people find theirs. It's the story you build out of the things that tried to break you — the obstacles you turned into a utensil to write with. A lot of what I photograph is the invisible scar of one's story; on its way to becoming something a person can stand inside of. That's what I'm trying to give every person I photograph — a frame inside the story they'll leave behind. It would be an honor for any of them to be part of mine.
